As classic spa of international reputation, people have known of Bad Wildungen for a long time. Because of its appealing location amid the densely forested, mid-mountain landscape, the city has also increasingly attained its name as a vacation spot in the last few years.

Recently, the most important Hessian model project for "environmentally-friendly tourism" was completed: The traditional treatment parks in Bad Wildungen and the neighboring sister spa in Reinhardshausen were connected to a unique, large treatment park via a practically natural "green bridge". This treatment park is equipped with new ecological and visitor-oriented features. With a surface of 50 hectars (124 acres), this is now considered the biggest treatment park in Europe.
